Many people, including academics, still think that numbers and maths in general 
hold a metaphysical explanation. We see patterns everywhere because we're 
programmed to see them, even if there are no numbers in the arithmetical sense 
outside of your perception. Everything works even without this idea, we could 
describe the universe as a global process without going into details.

Numbers are still amazing though, but we should take them for what they really 
are: a construction of our mind.
